It was an horrible day with the ball for the visiting lions as the ball flew all around the park. Australians put together a dominating batting performance in the Sri Lanka vs Australia 1st T20 at Adelaide.
Skipper Malinga won the toss and elected to field first. Things started off well with both Pradeep and Malinga bowling good lines and lengths. But, once Finch and Warner assessed conditions, Lankan bowlers had no answer. Kasun Rajitha, who bowled well in the warm up was taken to the cleaners. He conceded 75 runs in his four innings overs, which is the most on T20, a record no one wants to have.
The two wrist spinners struggled in the middle as Warner and Maxwell used their feet and the sweep to good use. Nuwan Pradeep was the only bowler to keep it under 10 runs per over. Both Finch and Maxwell scored brisk half centuries but, it was the maiden century in T20’s for Warner which took center stage.
